In April, Zillow invited our CEO Brea Starmer to their offsite to lead two workshops on building high-performing teams.
In the first workshop, Brea gave the crowd of 200+ practical tips using the 3Ms of our Highest & Best Use (HBU) Operating System to define their individual HBU setting themselves up for success. She invited them into a conversation about building work lives that keep them IN and keep them energized.
In the second workshop, Brea taught managers how to build high-performance teams taking their business objectives and drawing up what’s needed to achieve them. Topics included:
- The top 4 conditions needed to keep team members IN and how to build a culture that supports them.
- Using the 3Ms of the Highest & Best Use system to build high-performance teams.
- Designing an organization operating model that is proactively tapping into what you need and what you have.
- Integrating your team’s individual HBUs and identifying gaps.
Questions posed to the group:
- What are you able to achieve with the players you have?
- What are your gaps?
- Do we have the right set of folks motivated to solve our business challenge?
- Do we have enough resource capacity (skilled people & tech) to achieve our outcomes?
- Can we move fast enough with the realities of our collective boundaries?
