On a sunny Thursday in August, our Lions & Tigers community gathered on Mercer Island, WA, for our much-anticipated annual picnic. It was more than just an event—it was a beautiful gathering of our remote workforce, with team members flying in from across the Pacific Northwest – and a few from across the country – bringing along their families and kids to join the festivities.

This day was all about connection. We laughed, shared stories, and celebrated the incredible work that each of us contributes. Our picnic wasn’t just a chance to enjoy lawn games, take silly family photos, and eat delicious food; it was also an opportunity to honor our 2024 L&T Award winners for their service, advocacy, and unwavering contributions. These are the people who make Lions & Tigers what it is: a blended team of full-time and fractional talent solving big challenges, clients who trust us with their work, and community supporters who help to spread our mission and expand our reach. Brea Starmer, our Founder & CEO, took the stage to reflect on the successes we’ve celebrated this year and to share a glimpse into the exciting year ahead. With new clients on the horizon, she encouraged us all to follow our yellow brick road with courage, as we continue to push boundaries and create impact together.

LaShunte Portrey, our Business Development leader, shared her powerful “why” for joining the Lions & Tigers team. She spoke passionately about what sets us apart from the competition—our culture, our impact, and the unique space we’ve carved out in the industry. It was a heartfelt reminder of why we do what we do, and why it matters.

As we wrapped up the day, it was clear that this picnic was more than just an annual tradition. It was a celebration of who we are, the relationships we’ve built, and the incredible journey ahead.
