On November 17th, we hosted our last virtual event of 2020 to discuss the question, “how do I communicate everything I’m doing at work right now, in the most ambiguous year ever?” We felt drawn to this topic of owning and articulating our impact, especially for those of us who are caretakers -caring for kids, aging parents or extended community members – ensuring we all have the firepower we need heading into end of year to champion our work and influence our peers, teams, clients and leadership to do the same.
Lions & Tigers Founder and Strategic Consultant Brea Starmer and Licensed Psychologist and Exec Coach Dr. Renee St. Jacques led the conversation covering the following topics (links to video clips below):
- The world right now
- The psychology of survival and resilience
- Authenticity
- Why is championing and advocating for yourself so important?
- Personal branding
- OKRs
- Creative ideas for showing impact
They touched on the importance of redefining success, having self-compassion, setting boundaries, as well as how personal branding and OKRs can be used as people prepare for end of year reviews. And these topics resonated with people. As one attendee wrote after the event,
“The webinar provided context to reframe success for 2020, while defining personal brand and value proposition. It was a delightful and engaging conversation that addressed how our personal identity is integral to the way we show up at work, at home, and in our community. Dr. Renee St. Jacques and Brea Starmer are two powerhouses on a mission to redefine the meaning of work in a unique and thoughtful way that permanently disrupts the status quo.”
