Our Consultant Spotlight series lets us tell the stories of the people who make up the Lions & Tigers community. With a background in marketing and communications, Lexie Mizeras (she/her) was drawn to Lions & Tigers because of its mission. She joined L&T in May 2021 and says that the biggest benefit to flexible, high impact work is truly having a work/life balance. Lexie is a mother to two grown sons who currently live in her home state of Alaska.
ABOUT LEXIE
I was born and raised in Alaska. My husband Eric and I moved to Washington in 2017 when he got a promotion. We have two grown sons who still live in Alaska (for now) and a Jack Russell Terrier named Riley.
WHAT DO YOU MISS MOST ABOUT LIVING IN ALASKA
I miss having my family all in one place. Now it’s arranging schedules and flights instead of just dropping by.

WHY LIONS & TIGERS
The mission of Lions & Tigers truly resonates with me. Also, every day that I get to work with this team I feel even better about my choice!

I love to travel, which is unfortunate during a global pandemic. I love HGTV and all things DIY. I’m currently refinishing 5 pieces of furniture – be gone 90’s golden oak finish!
Professionally I am passionate about smart, authentic, and efficient storytelling. Hitting all of those marks simultaneously can be surprisingly tricky. I love the challenge.

ADVICE TO OTHERS NAVIGATING A CAREER TRANSITION
My two cents:
• Be adaptable – roll with it whenever possible, you never know where you’ll end up (and who and what you’ll learn along the way)!
• Look past the problem to solutions as quickly as you can. Everybody can see the problem. Set yourself apart and find solutions.
• Keep going – grit is highly underrated. One step, one project, one small win at a time and before you know it, you’ve reached a goal.
Those are the things I share with my kids anyway.
