Consultant Spotlight: Chris Harnois

Feb 3, 2022 | people

Our Spotlight series lets us tell the stories of the people who make up the Lions & Tigers community.  Chris Harnois (they/them) is a rockstar L&T Consultant with skills in marketing and project management and a passion for sustainability and social impact. When they’re not working towards a brighter future, Chris can be found enjoying the outdoors, supporting the arts, or playing the flute.

ABOUT CHRIS

I grew up in Rhode Island and went to school in Flagstaff, Arizona before moving to Seattle. It’s been fascinating and challenging to balance my desire to live in different regions while maintaining a close relationship with family, who are back in New England.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

I have a history of working with start-ups, especially in areas for social impact (education) and B2B marketing. Currently, I’m working on the #BuildFor2030 Initiative, driving innovation and collective impact with Microsoft partners in support of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Sustainability has always been a personal passion of mine and being able to combine my marketing and project management skill set into social impact has been a dream.

WHY LIONS & TIGERS

I almost feel like L&T and I chose each other! I was inspired by the drive for work/life balance through flexible work.

AREAS OF INTEREST & PASSIONS

My hobbies are varied and include hiking and backpacking, kayaking and paddle boarding, music (flutist of 20 years), yoga, reading, volunteering (managing a community music ensemble and trail maintenance), and gardening. I also appreciate the performing arts and try to attend comedy shows, plays, the symphony, etc. on a regular basis.

FUN FACT

I went through a Renaissance Faire phase in high school before discovering my love for the outdoors in college – it was almost a given, considering Flagstaff is only an hour and a half from the Grand Canyon.

BENEFITS OF FLEXIBLE WORK

Maintaining the space to engage with my diversity of interests, allowing me to show up as wholly realized individual which then reflects in the creativity I can bring to work.

WORDS TO LIVE BY

Say yes. Exploration reaps the largest rewards through experiential learning.
